... in the Thatched Tavern after the Fire Hash ... and the first ever person to correctly name the fastest footballer over 100 metres in any of the leagues - including the Premiership ... answer? Steve Morrall, a former Universities long jump champion who played for Torquay United (semi pro contract) ... he could run 10.8 for 100 metres (I was one of the timekeepers at Yeovil when Steve recorded this time on a grass track - sauntering to victory) ... forget Ronaldo, Steve would have blown him away ... a class act and I vividly recall the occasion he was brought on at Plainmoor against Bristol Rovers as substitute (his first few matches had seen him sit it out on the subs bench) ... the ball was passed to him out on the right wing and the acceleration he showed was so breathtaking that some of the opposing team just stopped to watch in amazement. Whoa!
