St Michael's Church packed for Arbie
Such was the regard that Arbie (Roger Brown) was held, some four hundred people packed into St Michael's Church, Teignmouth to pay their respects this afternoon. TVH3 swelled their ranks with many taking time off work to attend. Predictably, it was an emotional time for many of us and tears were shed as dear Arbie was borne from the church after the service. Particularly poignant was the sound of bagpipes heard from outside the church just at this moment, and several mouths quietly voiced the same word - 'Teapot' ... the lament was fleeting as emotion caught hold of Teapot but it was beautifully done and remains a fitting memory for us to hold on to.

Last minute ...
Update 15:33 hrs Central Maidencombe Time
Been out and it's glorious on the cliffs - the wind has dried most of the fields out quickly and there is joy bounding along the springy turf ... fingers crossed, weather looks like being dry and only the wind to contend with. Test fired a hessian flare and it'll burn fiercely for at least 6 minutes and will continue with flame for a good 10 minutes - I hope ... going out again to run it ...

I'm back from the recce
and can report that all livestock in our fields are under cover ... all that remains are numerous cow pats ... be warned! Remember the song "Mud, mud, glorious mud, nothing quite like it for cooling the blood, so follow me follow, down to the hollow and there we will wallow in glorious .... mud" - don't know why I threw that one in, just felt like a quick burst on my banjo ...
